What’s the best way to deal with arthritis in the knees?
ByI may have arthritis in my knees (still waiting for x-ray results). How can I continue to actively participate in sports and exercise without causing further damage. Right now, I can’t bend or go up a flight of stairs without pain.
I had a very swollen left knee last yr. It kept me in pain a lot of the time. It got so bad I could hardly walk without pain. I went to see a Specialist and he took a MRI. The knee showed arthritis behind the knee cap. The surgeon said that all he could do was to give me a cortisone shot in my knee,. This worked wonderfully and I no longer have pain or swelling. Its been over a yr. already and my knee is still painless. Cocoa

Im going threw the same thing.They took x rays says it was arthritis & to lose weight.So far I have lost 30 lbs.& ten pounds away from what im suppose to weigh the pain sence the lost of 30 lbs.is no different in pain.I wish you everyone is saying sergery my friend had it on his knee now hes worse he so sorry he did it.I also take MSN and other things for joint.The dr.gave me 500mill of pain pills so far nothing works.I dont no what to tell you I wish I new because I no it hurts.I have an execize bike I feel no pain when im done,because the knee is warm as soon as my body cools off im back to square 1.

I wish that i could tell you just what to do but after having severe arthritis in my knees for over 24 years (i was diagnosed at 13 years old) i still have no clue how to deal with the pain.
I have had 6 surgeries on my right knee just to help enough so that i can get out there and ride my horses again (and even that is not a pain free sport i just deal with it)
