This is a difficult one and I am sorry. You are so young to have to put up with the pain and limitations of RA.
I would caution you against buying prescription drugs illegally as they are often inferior, can contain any old rubbish. Plus it would harm your bank balance and your body.
You are articulate enough to have researched your illness. It says on one site that the severity of the arthritis and the pain are sometimes difficult to assess.
I think your doctor is right in being cautious with drugs and dosage. The least you need to make life bearable the better because of what it can do to you - addiction, dependence. Your age again comes into it, dependence is not such a worry and responsibility when the person being treated is near the end of life. Even then doctors can be reluctant to prescribe.
Talk to your doctor, ask for a second opinion or another referral to the rheumatologist.
I am surprised cocaine was given as a premed before surgery.
I am sorry not to be of more help and can only mentally cheer you on. I hope the RA goes into remission, my mother's did although she gave credit to a dreadful mixture of crushed garlic and honey. Was she right?
References :
Constant severe pain from my RA?
I am a sufferer of Rheumatoid Arthritis, it began in my feet, ankles, knees, hands and wrists, which caused a great deal of pain as it did. I now suffer pain in my elbows, muscles around my joints especially knees and ankles feels like they are on fire all the time. My back also, is hurting a great deal, my shoulders get on off pain and stiffness too.

My Dr has gone thru all the weak Opiates/ Opiods with me. None of these worked. I am now on Buprenorphine Transdermal Patch 20mg per week 20mcg per hour release with Co-Dydramol 10/500mg 8 per day. My pain is still chronic and severe.

I also, use DMARDS - Sulfasalazine 500mg 4 times daily, Prednisolone Steroids 10mg once daily, High Strength Folic Acid and Vitamin D and Calcium pills daily. Plus a few more pills to combat side affects from my Steroid use.

My Dr has told me and my mom today when she saw him, that I would just have to deal with the pain and exercise more even though I exercise twice daily but light exercise until my joints have had enough. He has said there is nothing he can do for me so I will just have to take the Chronically Severe pain.

Buprenorphine is the only strong Opiate he has tried me on, he once said he would give me Morphine tablets but has now back tracked on his idea.

I am in the UK, I know from research that Buprenorphine stops the analgesic effects of other Opiates from bein as affective. That there is also, other meds avaliable in England that are NOT Morphine but have less side effects and/or slightly weaker like Palladone (Hydromorphone) and Oxycontin/Oxynorm.

But he seems not interested in helping me saying im too young to become an addict. Like any age is good to become an addict, but I also know if used correctly at low doses addiction is not a real problem. Even the manufacturer leaflets on these drugs say it can be used by all people of any age just extra care is needed when under 18. I am 24 in 2 weeks BTW.

Is my Dr right to say these things? Or is it he is not interested much in helping me? I even had to fight for Dr's to recognize I had R.A because I broke the usual text book understandings of it just 2 appointments with a Rheumatologist said I had the disease a very aggressive Seronegative R.A. Even she told me not everyone plays by the rules with disease and most Dr's are ignorant of the problem.

My Rheumatologist also, wants me off the Steroids because they commonly cause Brittle Bone Disease (Osteoperosis) when used for long periods. Which I do as a blue steroid treatment card holder. But my Dr is refusing to wean me off the Steroids because the pain im in. I use steroids and still get swelling nearly everyday, only thing that helps my disease is illegal even Rheumatologist said it helps that is Cannabis it gets rid of my pain better then all pain meds so far and it gets rid of swelling and inflammation better than steroids.

However, due to politicians controlling the health service in England it is still illegal. Plus im not wealthy so I cant afford to use this all the time.

My pain is so bad, I cant get more than 3 hours sleep without waking up from the pain, I have big black circled shadows around my eyes cos I cant sleep and the pain keeps me up. Half the time I cant walk or get ot of a chair without help or my Crutch.

I am so desperate for pain relief that I have even asked people to find me prescription medicines without going to the Dr because of their lack of interest. Only reason I got Buprenorphine was cause I told my Dr I was so close to getting Coke or Heroin to numb my pain. I have not used either ever except when I had coke injected into my for a Local Anesthetic pre surgery. I have no desire for thse illegal drugs but that is how bad my pain is daily, that I have been tempted by this but so far restrained from doing so.

Plus I have a huge phobia of needles so cant use Anti TNF drugs, its even hard for me to get my bloods done every 3 months.

I would not start testing your son right now (or in the immediate future.) arthritis can show up at any time, but it's not detectable ahead of time. Instead be aware of the symptoms of arthritis: pain, redness, swelling, and/or heat concentrated in the joints; stiffness in the morning, or long periods of inactivity; reduced range of motion in the joints; general signs of being unwell (lethargy, reduced appetite, etc.) Joint symptoms with RA are usually symmetrical. It most commonly occurs in the hands, but can occur in other joints as well. If your kids does start showing those symptoms, try to get an appt. with a rheumatologist *quickly.* If necessary, giving your GP a list of symptoms, a family history, and a request for a referral should get you to a rheumy fairly promptly.
References :
I have nothing else to give, because our beautiful "minx" and trusted "oldtimekid" already said it all. And better than I could.
There is just one thing I would like to bring to your attention.
If you do suffer from leukemic cancer there is a new experimental product on the horizon tested by the US company "Gilead Science" and they looking for volunteers. The drug - labeled GS 9219 - has shown fantastic results in the first phase of testing.
In the preclinical studies, one injection of the drug removed stomach and throat tumor in just six days.
A trial of GS-9219 in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) or Multiple Myeloma (MM) is starting in five US states. California, Massachusetts, Illinois, Nevada and Texas.
References :
Make sure to check with your doctor first, but I know that Vitamin C and Zinc both boost the immune system. Everytime I feel a cold coming on I start taking zinc and I never get sick. Just make sure that you take zinc AFTER you have eaten your meal or it will make you unbelievably nauseous and you will throw up.
References :
my life

To boost your immune system eat immune boosting foods such as raw fruits and vegies, raw garlic and onion, raw vegetable juices, raw fenugreek, chilli, ginger, free range eggs, oily fish (salmon, sardines, tuna), avocadoes, flaxseed (ground freshly and cold pressed oil), barley grass (juice or sprouted seeds), wheat grass juice, freshly sprouted seeds and beans, cold pressed seed and vegetable oils, fresh seafood, legumes such as peas, beans and lentils, organic raw nuts and seeds (ground up for easier digestion).

Sea weeds such as kelp, dulse, agar - agar, nori, arame, kombu, wakame and hijiki are excellent for improved immune function.

Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts all contain phyto nutrients that protect against infections ... foods containing plant hormones (known as phyto estrogens), such as isoflavones and lignans, are known to reduce the risk of many cancers... good sources of these plant hormones are soy beans (if you can tolerate soy), alfalfa and flaxseed.

Avoid mucous producing foods ~ milk and diary products such as cheese, ice cream, cream, preserved meats and processed foods.

Actually try to pinpoint foods to which you are intolerant as these foods will only stress an already stressed body.

Hey, an easy way to tell if you are allergic to a particular food is to take your pulse before eating the food ~ timed over a period of 30 seconds then double the result (your pulse will probably be between 52 and 70 beats per minute) ~ eat the food you suspect you are intolerant or allergic to and take your pulse again 15 minutes later ~ if it is 20 beats or more higher you probably have an allergy to the food

Avoid tobacco, smoking and alcohol & soft drinks and sodas.

Drink loads and loads (at least 2 - 3 litres daily) of fresh filtered water to ensure you are properly hydrated.

Try to exercise daily.... even if it's only a 15 minute walk in circles around your washing line!! Exercise can do wonders for a poorly functioning immune system and promote health in various other ways.

take care of you

peace
♥

These symptoms do sound typical of lyme disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and some other autoimmune conditions. You should see your doctor and get a lyme test run. You can also ask her/him for a referral to a rheumatologist or to run several tests: ANA, Sed rate, C reactive protein, RF, for example that would signify inflammatory conditions and autoimmune conditions. Definitely get this checked out and feel better!
References :
Green—Leaves are steamed or cooked prior to oxidation. A crisper but less powerful taste than black. – Grün , Blaetter sind dampfbehandelt oder gekocht prior zur Oxidation
White—Leaves from the bud of the tea plant are flash-steamed and dried, so it’s the least processed form with the most antioxidants and the least caffeine. A light, delicate flavor. – Weiss – Blaetter von der Knospe der Teepflanze sind brüdengedampft und getrocknet, so ist es die letzte bearbeitete Form mit den meisten Antioxidanten und dem wenigsten Koffein. Ein leichtes, zartes Aroma.
Black—Leaves are exposed to the air and turn black due to oxidation. A stronger, more traditional taste. – Schwarz – Blaetter sind er Luft ausgesetzt und werden aufgrund der Oxidation schwarz.
First and foremost, make sure you are eating a proper diet, getting enough sleep, and doing at least some form of exercise (even if it's walking around) at least a few times a week. That's the basic way to stay healthy in general, but if you find that you are getting sick more often than you would like, there are some natural options to help boost your immune system.
Some of the most popular natural products for boosting the immune system are Colostrum, Mushrooms (Maitake, Shiitake, and Reishi), IP-6 (Inositol Hexaphosphate), Beta Glucans, Elderberry, Echinacea (should be taken short-term only), and any antioxidants. If you are under 18, though, I would stay away from the Echinacea unless a doctor says it's okay. Good luck!
